The hottest new spring releases in our plant world

A trip to Oxford to hunt down primroses, pansies and some surprising hellebores!

February is the month when true “plant hunting” season starts for me, as breeders open their doors to show what’s new with spring bedding. Primroses, in particular, offer the consumer a real boost, as they splash their colour around the garden with gay abandon! But, it’s also a great time for cool season crops such as Pansies, Ranunculus, Wallflowers, and the big boss of winter-spring, the Hellebore!

So, when I had an invite to the Spring Showcase at Ball Colegrave in Oxfordshire, I just had to make sure I dropped by, even if it means going past Milton Keynes, and ALL those roundabouts!
