NEWS FLASH

NIKE ‘grows’ new breed of orange tulips for UEFA Women’s Euro 2025

Forget footballs – the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 has kicked off with silk tulips. NIKE’s bold ‘Oranje Fatalis’ blooms (crafted with Bloom & Wolf) channel the power, beauty and bite of the Dutch team, the Leeuwinnen. With a fierce colour palette and backstory, these prickly posies are part of a floral takeover blooming across Amsterdam. And no – they’re not real, but they’re very convincing. Who knew flowers could be part of the kit?

PLANT OF THE WEEK

Rose of Venice chicory

Like a cabbage crossed with a ballerina, this heirloom chicory starts green and blushes bright pink when the frost sets in. As tasty as it is showy, it works raw in salads or caramelised in risottos. Sow between April and July, then wait for winter magic. Bonus: it looks absolutely cracking on Instagram.
