I’m starting to get back in the regular swing of things, and for this Wednesday Substack post I thought I would write about hydrangeas. Specifically, the ice cream ones, you know the ones with the big blousy heads, they tend to be white and pinks, and don’t change change colour on different soils. They only change colour with the seasons.

Did you know that you can actually choose the size of your flowerhead? The very large heads often need support and protection, but you can actually fashion your plant in a very different way, with multiple small heads. Or, you can abandon pruning altogether, and grow it into a small tree!
