In case you missed it, I’ve been traversing the tulip fields of the Netherlands, including the famous Keukenhof bulb gardens (which you can read about here as I go behind the scenes)!
But not only that, I’ve been visiting key growers, such as cut flower tulip grower Spruit, where high tech machinery is used to help create the most stunning bunches of flowers - a tulip lover would simply swoon over these!
Not one to leave you hanging, I’m going to dive straight into my top 10 tulip picks from my visit to the Willem-Alexander Pavilion at Keukenhof. With so many different shapes and shades, there’s something for everyone here…
‘Lalibela’
Isn’t this just the most perfect red you’ve ever seen? Not too blue, not too orange - it sits right in the middle of the shade, which means it works well with whatever you’ve got growing in your garden right now, whether that’s indigo-coloured muscari or buttery yellow, late-season daffs!
‘Sweet Valley’
Speaking of buttery yellow, this colour looks good enough to spread on toast! Blooming within green and yellow sepals, these flowers are derived from wild tulips that thrive in the mountains of Central Asia.
