I asked for a sea view, the receptionist assured me I could have it… Welcome to Czechia, where my humour knows no bounds. I was here with the fleuroselect community, to learn about the horticultural ins and outs of this fine country. I have arrived knowing nothing, which is always the best way.
Breakfast was super nice, anyone that knows me knows I love a continental spread. I’ll always choose that over an English breakfast. I stocked up on smoked items, and then joined the conference.
First up, news on plant of the year, in 2024 it was sunflower. Part of this was the full RHS AGM trials, which I was a judge of. A very interesting trial, which really opened up people’s eyes to different shapes and colours, and the trial is about to reach its crescendo. If you have time, visit! What’s next? Begonias next year… but which types? There’s so much to choose from! Year after: ornamental grasses - which could be super interesting!
