I’ve been busy at the National Plant Show last week - click here to see the news about me becoming an HTA ambassador - and there were some amazing plants at the show, more entered than ever!

You might have seen various posts on Instagram about it, but here, I’m actually showcasing the five top houseplants that I spotted at the show.

Hoya callistophylla

Interest in Hoya seems to be extending far and wide now as they start to enter the mainstream world. I used to love my grandma’s Hoya bella and carnosa.

This Hoya is super easy to grow - a nice indoor basket plant - and that foliage is to die for.

Buy it here.

Schefflera actinophylla ‘Amate Golden’

Wow, Schefflera really got a glow-up! I am loving the fresh, golden leaves of this beauty. I’m wondering if it would cope in slightly lower light levels - might be nice for a more shady lounge where it will really shine.

This is currently sold out from most online retailers, so keep an eye out for restocks!

Murdannia ‘Helikopter’

I’m not saying we need a new spider plant, but this could actually be quite interesting… It looks a bit tougher than a spider plant, actually, and I quite like the fresher, white variegation. Spider plants are a little bit too verging on golden for me - plant snob that I might be!

This is a very new plant - hopefully coming soon to retailers!

VIP subscribers can read on to find a colourful plant that’s perfect for conservatories, plus a cactus that’s totally unlike your average cactus plant!
